Formerly known as LoveFest and San Francisco LoveFest, LovEvolution 2011 is back and ready to rock a brand new venue in the Bay Area. After location issues forced the even to be canceled in 2010, LovEvolution 2011 finds a new home in Oakland at the O.co Coliseum Grounds. Although what is considered the main event of LovEvolution will take place Saturday, September 24, 2011, there are official and affiliated events taking place daily from Wednesday, September 21st through Sunday, September 25th.
From 2004 to 2009, LovEvolution (inspired by The Love Parade, which takes place every year in Berln) was held in the middle of downtown San Francisco. At that time the parade showcased 25 uniquely themed and wildly decorated floats and included thousands of festival go’ers flooding the streets, surrounding and supporting their favorite floats, and dancing their way from Market and 2nd Streets to the San Francisco Civic Center Plaza. Once all the floats completed the parade, the plaza would turn into an open-air festival grounds and that’s when the real party would start! This year, the surroundings may be new but LovEvolution will still include a parade, a day and after party, and promises to create the same vibe and to spread the same message of diversity, tolerance, respect, unity, peace, and love.
Something that LovEvolution board members are extremely proud of is the way the parade supports the community and the fact that The San Francisco LovEvolution is a volunteer non-profit organization. All profits made from the event are either applied towards next year’s event or given to participating non-profit organizations. To give you an idea of the size of this event, the 2008 parade drew over 120,000 people.

Venue
O.co Coliseum Grounds is a much larger venue that provides more options for setting up and creating the ultimate festival setting. The grounds will be able to accommodate ample parking, thousands of LovEvolution festival go’ers, the famous parade of floats (route will be around the perimeter of the parking lots which is the same length of our parade in downtown San Francisco), one enormous stage, a huge shaded, grassy chill zone and then some!

Transportation
BART
The Bay Area Rapid Transit Coliseum Station is located on the East side of the O.co Coliseum and is accessible by a walk-over, which connects the Coliseum to the BART station. AC Transit (Bus)
For those in Alameda Country, another option is AC Transit services. Patrons should take AC Transit to the Coliseum BART station and utilize the walk-over which connects the BART station to the O.co Coliseum. Looking forward to the great line-up. Word on the Street is there is a real Positive Vibe on the street for lovevolution. After the bad press EDC in la Got last year and the recent disturbances in Hollywood, all eyes are going to be on the Bay Area for this one.
