Share

The Sonar Festival takes place annually every June in Barcelona, Spain. This year is the 18th occurrence of the festival. The festival officially runs over the course of three days, June 16th to June 18th, but parties take place for a few days before and after the festival, as well. The festival attracts some of the biggest international artists leaning towards groundbreaking and underground artists. The festival attracts approximately 80,000 people each year.

The festival is broken up into Sonar by Day and Sonar by Night. Sonar by Day takes place at Center of Contemporary Culture and the Museum of Contemporary Art in the center of Barcelona. It usually starts around noon and goes until 10pm. Sonar by night takes place outside the center of the city at the conference center called Fira Gran Via. Sonar by night goes until 8:00AM.

Similar to Miami Music Week or Winter Music Conference, many visitors do not attend the actually festival but chose to go to the various surrounding club and beach parties. Every club in Barcelona as well as all the beach bars and hotel pools arrange parties throughout the week with international DJs playing.

Great festival! We wrote several blogs concerning this festival (see link) and it might interest you.
My reason to post this topic is because I want to offer my help to anyone who is coming to the Sonar festival in Barcelona and is looking for an apartment.
Within Barcelona´s city limits everything is very easy to reach using Public transport like de tube. On Friday the Metro runs until 2 am and Saturday night is runs all night long. Cabs are not so expensive at all, so you´ll always be able to get to you apartment or hotel. A visit is always worth it, at least I never regretted my move down here. You can combine your visit to Sonar with all the good things Barcelona has to offer.
So if you need advice or information about Barcelona and accommodation, feel free to contact me or visit our blog.

BTW: I understand that advertising generally is taken more critical. I do not want to sell anything or something similar, but simply offer people the chance to inform themselves.

    Mick
