If you live anywhere near New York City (or you are looking to travel) and you are a fan of electronic dance music, then for the second straight year over the 4th of July weekend, Governors Island is going to be the place to be! Dance.Here.Now. Festival 2011 kicks off on July 1st and includes 4 straight days of open-air EDM madness!
Festival go’ers will find themselves on a 176-acre former military outpost, off limits to the public for 200 years, located right between Wall Street and Brooklyn. Governors Island is a landmark and a national park and the locale for what is sure to be an incredible festival.

For each of the four days on Governors Island, Dance.Here.Now. 2011 has the headliners playing the main stage along with a solid list of other djs and artists playing in the Courtyard Tents. And they waste no time getting down to business.
- Day 1 - July 1st, has the legendary Paul Van Dyk playing an exclusive 6 hour set! Buy Day 1 tickets here.
- Day 2 - July 2nd, the focus in Fat Boy Slim, James Zabiela, and Sleepy & Boo. Buy Day 2 tickets here.
- Day 3 - July 3rd, is all about Benny Benassi, Laidback Luke, The Japanese Popstars, and JDH & Dave P. Buy Day 3 tickets here.
- Day 4, July 4th, it’s Victor Calderone, Nicolas Matar, and Nicole Moudaber on the big stage. Buy Day 4 tickets here.
Compared to what most festival tickets are going for these days, Dance.Here.Now Festival 2011 tickets are definitely reasonably priced. General Admission single day tickets are between $40 and $50 (depending on the day) after fees. VIP single day tickets are around $115 after fees. While you can buy a 4-day general admission pass for approximately $130 after fees. The VIP 4-day pass ticket is around $350 after fees. **All prices subject to increase.**
If you decide to purchase a VIP pass, here is what your money will get you:

**Please note - some but not all tickets include a round-trip ferry ticket. Make sure you know what your ticket includes before you purchase it.
Entry Info:
This is an 18+ event and doors open 4PM-12AM
Be sure to bring the card that you used to purchase the tickets. You will be required to present it.
To get to the event via ferry, start at Pier 11, located at the corner of South Street & WalL Street, New York, NY. Then take the Governors Island ferry - free with certain tickets.
Shuttle buses travel to and from Randall’s Island Park for all three days of the festival throughout the day. These buses will depart from and return to East 124th St. (exact cross street TBA). Some tickets include a ticket for the shuttle bus so if you plan on taking the shuttle, it’s recommended that you purchase your shuttle ticket with your festival ticket. There is no guarantee that shuttle tickets will be available to purchase separately.
Parking on Randall’s Island will be very limited. It’s highly recommended that you purchase a parking pass with your ticket or festival pass. There is no guarantee that parking passes will be available for purchase separately. Only one parking pass is required per vehicle. Also, there is no overnight parking and no tailgating allowed on Randall’s Island.
There is something innately special about being outside for warm summer evenings on the east coast. With an event like this, it will surely be magical!
