The chicks behind decks we are about to review are playing with industry leaders at some of the sickest festivals and dance parties around the world. We hope you review the various festivals around the world, as you will see that Europe has been doing dance festivals for some time and attract large audiences for a trip of a lifetime.
Monika Kruse
Monika’s passion for music started at very early age, taking piano lessons at the tender age of 4. Monika simplay said, “Music just makes me happy!” Taking her enthusiam for music into the club scene, she was headlining clubs as early as 1991 with early influences from funk, hip-hop and house. Today Monika Kruse wears many hats, traveling between Germany and Spain, headlining premiere events and festivals all the while mainting her record label, Terminal M. Terminal M had recently celebrated 10 years in the industry and has brought her closer to friends like Carl Cox, Gregor Threshr, Kolette, her favorite boyband Andhim and more! You can see Monika during her residencies in Berlin, Germany playing at leading nightclubs Panorama Bar/Berghain, Watergate, and The Weekend club!
Monika’s enthusiasm for her music is still very much alive, as she will encourage her fans to come watch her play using social media. Here is a recent tweet during her gig at Panorambar, “Best weather to stay long in the club! Join me 2nite at panoramabar. Together with dapayk, thomas schumacher, cassy, galuzzi, luke slater.. ” With a set of friends that awesome, it makes it hard not to wanna join. Her passion for music oozes out of her as you can see regular tweets promoting tracks from friends as if she heard her first house track yesterday. It’s nice when you can come up on an artist that is truly passionate about her work after so many years in the industry. A true legend in her own right, Monika continues to pave the way by supporting new talents with label Terminal M. She plays alongside the likes of Ben Klock, Dapayk, Koletki’s and many other infamous German DJ’s on a week to week basis.
According to billboard.biz, “Having long played second fiddle to the United Kingdom, Germany now ranks as the largest music market in Europe, according to international music trade body IFPI.” This on going love for music by German culture has given Monika the platform to express herself in the form of techno and tech house elements that some countries still struggle to embrace. Having to develop her skills at an early age, you can still see Monika spinning vinyl. Recently she took on a full vinyl set for the I Heart Vinyl festival produced by German producers Dapayk and Padberg. Monika Kruse is scheduled for one of UK’s biggest festivals, SW4 this weekend. More artists are scheduled to be streamed live from b@tv live, catch some live streaming - click here!
p.s. FestivalZOO would like to send our condolences to Monika and her family as she is in a time of grief with the recent passing of her mother.
