If you are lucky enough to be attending the Electric Zoo festival in NYC and you feel a slight bit of anxiety when you look at the lineup, it’s ok, we understand why! With so much talent coming to New York City, with so many big names invading Randall’s Island, with such a long list of DJs on the bill for 2011′s Electric Zoo, where do you begin?
You are probably asking yourself - Which of my favorite Acts are on the lineup? Who must I absolutely see? Who are the maybes? Do I write out a schedule for myself so I don’t lose track? Which stages will I spend most of your time at? What do I do if two artists that I want to see and are playing at the same time on different stages? How long will it take to walk from one stage to the next? And what if my friends want to see different artists that me?
Oh the life of an EDM fan. Sigh.
Only you can plan out the perfect Electric Zoo experience but in case you are looking for a little help, here are the Top 5 artists that we at FestivalZOO recommend you check out.
5 Joris Voorn & Nic Fanciulli B2B
We would have put either of these guys on the list by themselves, so the fact they are playing back-to-back means something special is going to take place on that stage and it’s a can’t miss in our book!
4 Arty
Born Artem Stolyarov, this 21 yr old Russia native had quite an impressive year in 2010. He was nominated in the Breakthrough DJ of the Year category at the 2010 IDMA and made DJ Mag’s Top 100 at #78 and in 2011 he has kept the momentum going. On July 4th, 2011, Arty released his massive, big-room house anthem “Around the World” on Anjunabeats. With unprecedented support from the likes Axwell, Chuckie, Hardwell, Tiesto, Robbie Rivera, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery and more, clearly he is doing something right! You should see for yourself what the hype is all about!
3 Luciano
What do you get when you take the star of the hottest night in Ibiza (Vagabundos at Pacha), pair it with a sound that defies all labels, and add the fact that his appearances in the US are rare? You get a must see performance by the legendary Luciano!
2 Guti (LIVE )
Last month we had the pleasure of catching a Guti (live) performance in LA at an intimate 100 person venue and it was memorable from start to finish. This accomplished jazz pianist turned Argentinian rock star turned DJ brings a unique brand of tech house to the mix (heavy with jazz and latin roots) and is something you need to experience to truly appreciate.
1 Plastikman (LIVE)
Back in June, while at EDC Vegas, FestivalZOO was lucky enough to interview the techno pioneer and brains behind Plastikman, Richie Hawtin. The passion Richie has for Plastikman is absolutely contagious. As he performs inside a cage, purposely hiding himself from the crowd (to keep the focus off of him) his goal is to provide an immersive audio and visual experience, a multi-sensory journey unlike anything else that he describes as “electronic live show that is physical and visceral.” Don’t miss your opportunity to see this one of a kind performance!
Are any of these artists on your list of must-sees?

Great selection of artists. I would also add MOBY whose blown my mind the two times I’ve seen him.
