With Labor Day Weekend 2011 right around the corner, we know for many of you, you have Vegas on the brain - and for good reason! Every Labor Day Weekend Las Vegas turns into a non-stop, four day long party and 2011 will be no exception. At this point most of the pools and clubs in Las Vegas have released their Labor Day Weekend lineups so we wanted to share our recommendations, as usual. No matter what your favorite genre is, there will be something for everyone in Vegas over the holiday weekend.
So here are our picks for the Top 5 Las Vegas Labor Day Weekend 2011 Parties.
(5) Ferry Corsten at Nikki Beach - Sunday, 9/4
This superstar is still at the top of his game and since he doesn’t make it to the US too often, if you are a trance fan, it’s definitely worth checking him out. This is sure to be a brilliant show!
(4) Tiesto In Concert at The Joint - Saturday, 9/3
You may be thinking, no surprise here with us recommending the #1 DJ in the world but let us explain why. This isn’t just a regular DJ gig, this is Tiesto In Concert. His live show takes everything to a new level - his performance, the production (think fireworks, lasers, and visuals on steroids!), the overall journey - its quite the sight to see. After getting sucked into Tiesto’s world for few hours, you will leave with zero doubts as to why this man is in the #1 slot with no plans moving any time soon.
(3) Skrillex at Surrender Nightclub - Friday, 9/2
Still the hottest electro artist out there at the moment, Skrillex has been on tour and on a tear! Playing to packed venues each night, the energy levels are through the roof as he drives the kids crazy with hours of incessant sick beats and intense drops.
(2) Kaskade & Pete Tong at Encore Beach Club - Sunday, 9/4
Either of these two guys could have earned a spot in our Top 5 but put them together and it’s guaranteed to be a full day of top-notch, make-you-move music. If you have the chance to see a pioneer and legend like Pete Tong (he was given his own night at Pacha this summer to celebrate his 20 years on the island), you should jump on it! And with his gig on Radio 1, it sure seems like he always has the hook-ups for the newest, dopest tracks. And then there is the Encore Beach Club resident and fan favorite, Kaskade. Once you see the breath-taking venue that is Encore Beach Club and hear the hypnotic Kaskade tunes pumping out of the speakers, you quickly realize they were meant for each other - they are the perfect pair. Pool parties don’t get any sexier than this!
(1) Deadmau5 at The Chelsea - Friday, 9/2 & Saturday, 9/3
The Meowingtons Hax tour will make its way to Vegas to play a couple of shows over the long holiday weekend. Deadmau5 has put his heart and soul into this tour and it shows! If you don’t believe us, listen to what the music critics have to say. After a recent show at Lollapalooza, SPIN magazine noted it as the #1 set of the entire festival and had this to say - “The level of spectacle that the Canadian DJ/producer commands is not just beyond any other electronic act, it’s beyond any other act period.” Aren’t you just a little bit curious?
