When festivalZOO launched in March 2011, our mission was to become “The Premiere Destination for Festival Information”. In trying to succeed in that mission we have taken you to destinations unknown, brought exclusive info on some your favorite artist, included information to over 1000 parties, added over 120 of the best dance music festivals worldwide. With over 362, 000 pageviews and 200, 000 visitors, our viewers are speaking in loud volumes!
The next step in that mission is to help bridge the gap between our festival go’ers and and club go’ers. With a huge uprise in underground music around the world, we wanted to be at the forefront of bringing our viewers the best in cutting edge dance music! With the constant demand in US festivals for the Tiesto’s, Avicii’s, Guetta’s, Swedish House Mafia we wanted to flip the globe and take you to a scene that is gaining huge momentum around the world!
Some of our industry’s finest talent are heading to places like Berlin in search for creativty. In an economic down turn, people are striving more than ever for innovation and it is no different for individuals in the music scene. With an abundance of laptop studio’s and growing number of dj’s, true artist are finding avenue’s that help foster a true innovative style that will keep you moving on dance floors for hours on end.
Don’t get me wrong, we at festivalZOO love our trance, progressive music, it was our gateway to the house scene. We have explored various countries, numerous festivals and have reached a place in the scene that is near and dear to our hearts, the underground! It’s not about techno music, trance music, dubstep…..it’s about good music! If you pay close enough attention, you will find that many of these artists are starting to reach deep into their roots bringing elements of funk, disco, jazz, soul and meshing it with electronic elements and thus yielding a new creative cross breed of house and techno elements with deep driven bass lines! Doesn’t that sound refreshing!!! Our techno capital, Berlin is producing some of the finest young talent and house’s some the world’s leading artist including Ricardo Villalobos, Paul Kalkbrenner, Richie Hawtin, Dixon, Sammy Dee, Davide Squillace to name a few. How often is it that we in the states get to enjoy a set from some of most revered artist in Europe and the UK??? If they are so high in demand in countries that are driving the scene, where does that leave us?
“After years of being relegated to the margins, the American dance-music scene is reaching critical mass. And though international superstar DJs like Guetta or Swedish House Mafia, and their glossy pop crossovers, have been part of the process, it goes deeper now. At every level — from Las Vegas superclubs hosting millionaire trance DJs for the striped-shirted and miniskirted to parties on the Burning Man playa fueled by ketamine and tweaked-out underground house music — dance is back, bigger than it’s been since the last days of disco. Bigger even than in the “electronica” boom of the late-’90s, which produced a No. 1 album — the Prodigy’s Fat of the Land - and sowed the seeds for today’s bumper crop of beats.” <http://www.spin.com/articles/new-rave-generation>
With that said, festivalZOO has taken on the mission of bringing artists that are at the forefront of this in demand scene! Artists that once seemed unattainable will now be attainable! Bringing new and fresh music to the LA scene to help educate and expose our festival go’ers to the underground! Look out for upcoming events on our “Parties” page.
See ya in the Wild!
