Top 5 DJs Live: Who Brings the Party

Share

Too often do we take for granted the tremendous production that goes into a live DJ set but with today’s generation fully harnessing the power behind the electronic experience, we thought it best to give you a little insight on some acts guaranteed to knock your socks off live. If you think you can handle large proportions of booty shakin’, brain rattling, firework spitting performances, then dive right into this top five.

FIVE

Armin Van Buuren

A show put on by Armin Van Buuren is not recommended for those prone to seizures. Extreme laser shows seem to be his thing and boy does he does them like never before. But it’s not just the psychedelic lights that earn Van Buuren a spot on the list, this DJ knows how to throw a party and sometimes that includes fire dancers. That’s right, fire dancers. Sure many artists use pyro techniques to wow their audiences but at an Armin Van Buuren set you can expect just a little more than just your run of the mill fireworks.

FOUR

David Guetta

David Guetta knows how to keep an audience moving and that right there is enough to earn him his number four spot but this isn’t the only reason we love his live performances. Guetta’s huge stage settings might be a large factor in his live success, but it could also be the sheer amount of collaborations that he has been pumping out with some of today’s top artists. Now that’s one way to build a reputation.

THREE

Deadmau5

Everybody’s favorite glow in the dark, Canadian mouse (and possibly our only) is expected to take a spot on the list when it comes to performance. Deadmau5 is of course known for his distinctly flashy attire and sold out shows but we all know that it is his incredibly distinct sound (standing out in an era flooded with electronic masters is difficult) that makes him a worthy pick. Despite his number three spot, a Deamau5 show is priority for many of us out there lucky enough to catch him rolling through our city.

TWO

Daft Punk

Surely this is a predictable top pick for a great majority but hey, maybe we just never get sick of giving props to our favorite French duo. At least we can admit it, and whether it’s merely the anticipation of seeing the two helmeted figures appear onstage or the larger than life light shows, the generations just can’t get enough of these terrestrial talents that have withstood the test of time.

ONE

Tiësto

A lot of performers know how to party, but with acrobatics, dancers, pyro techniques, and any other stage acts this giant can conjure up, Tiësto has earned our number one spot. This Dutch DJ knows how to dominate the charts and the crowds. The sheer size of a Tiësto show is enough to push him to the top the countdown but it’s really all the theatrics that go into his shows that make him the rightful number one.
