Last weekend we got an early jump on the Vegas pool party season and spent a gorgeous Sunday afternoon at Marquee Dayclub. Based on the size and energy of the crowd, you would have never guessed that it was only it’s second weekend open for Summer 2012. One key factor in the palpable electricity zipping through the air was the man behind the decks, American’s favorite DJ, Kaskade! If you have ever wondered what it’s like to be puppet at the mercy of a puppeteer, go to a Kaskade event and try not to dance. You literally feel as though he is in control of your body, making you dance. His music gets inside you and wills you to move - for hours and hours. Also adding to the vibe of pure ecstasy is Kaskade’s infectious love and appreciation for what he does. Grabbing the mic and chanting things like “It’s so good to be alive!” and “I’m so happy to be here!” one can’t help but feel his joy along with him.
The venue itself is a sight to see. When people come to Vegas for the pool party experience, the Marquee Dayclub is EXACTLY what they are looking for. Brand new to the dayclub scene last summer, The Cosmopolitan Hotel quickly became one of the industry leaders when Marquee Dayclub opened it’s doors in 2011. The space goes on for days and includes multiple pools, various bars, a DJ booth front and center complete with cryo guns and a gigantic video screen above it, casino tables in the back, cabanas and day beds in every possible nook and cranny and every other amenity you could need - and even those you didn’t know you needed!
You were hard pressed to find any space in the pool, never mind the dance floor. In fact the pools, daybeds, pedestals and stairs had all become makeshift dance floors. Everywhere you looked there were party people having the time of their lives and, as you can imagine, that is the ideal atmosphere for a Sunday pool party in Vegas.
And don’t think for one second that just because the sun goes down that the dayclub is done for the day. Rather once Marquee Nightclub opens for more sin city revelry, the dayclub space becomes an extension of the nightclub (not like it needs the extra space). It transforms into an open air area for nightclubbers to catch their breath, cool off or carry on a conversation without the need to scream at one another.
In short, if you want the ultimate Vegas pool party experience, go directly to Marquee. You can thank us when you see us there because we will most definitely be back for more!
