  • Each Memorial Day weekend since 2000, the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) and its successors host an annual showcase of electronic dance music in the city of Detroit . Following the first three years when the event was held under the name Detroit Electronic Music Festival (2000–2002), it was then known as Movement (2003–2004), Fuse-In (2005), and currently Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival (2006–present), with each name change reflecting a shift in festival management. Regardless of the name, all of these festivals have continued DEMF’s tradition of featuring performances by musicians and DJs that emphasize the progressive qualities of the culture surrounding electronic music.
