As always, we at FestivalZOO would like to make some recommendations in terms of which DJs you should be sure and catch. For Electric Daisy Carnival 2011 - Las Vegas, which has an enormous lineup, we are going to make it simple and break it down by genre.

Here are our recommendations for dubstep DJs:

Friday

Don't overdo it with too much dubstep Friday. We've got some good electro and DnB acts this day. Excision is a popular dubstep act, but for reasons which I cannot say. His sound is repetitive, and very dull in a festival setting. The only reason I endured his set at coachella was to be up close for Skrillex…and it was a painful wait. Skream & Benga, 2/3's of the acclaimed Magnetic Man, will definitely have a great performance, likely with their MC. But if you don't eat sleep and breathe distorted bass, you may be sick of dubstep by the time they come on! So I recommend at least waiting for them before hitting up the basspod. Unfortunately, their set conflicts with Tiesto's, which could be a deterance for you. Don't worry, the basspod has a killer Saturday and Sunday lineup.

Saturday

Now let's talk some dubstep. Haven't had your bass fix yet? Bassnectar plays at 11. He's not really my style, a little too cookie-cutter and repetitive, but he is certainly a popular name among the die-hard dub-heads. The more melodic Rusko shares a timeslot with Guetta and Chuckie, and is certainly worth checking out if you're sick of house :) (I think Rusko's got a great sound, but he got stuck with an awful timeslot for sure).
Last year, say the name Skrillex and you'll get blank stares, but after his second EP dropped in October on Mau5trap, his sounds have become a mainstay on dancefloors all over the world. I'll put 12th Planet as a runner up here. There's not too much else going on at that time, and he tends to play a variety of great dubstep. Fair warning, if you're up front, he will dive on you.

Sunday

When it comes to dubstep, don't waste your time with the American Datsik (go see Avicii instead!!), wait until Doctor P…. and bring earplugs, because your head will explode. Doctor P's Sweet Shot was rated the #1 dubstep track of all time (which is only a few years of course). His recent collaboration with Flux Pavillion has created a track we recently featured as track of the day, a remix to DJ Fresh's Louder.
